Tondu Ironworks Beehive Coke Ovens

Posted by Philip (South Wales, United Kingdom) on 7 May 2012 in Business & Industry.

These are situated behind the blowing engine house on a banked area. These are fascinating but not the best things to photograph. The site has been badly overgrown with Japanese Knotweed although the council have obviously done a great job clearing it away.

There are 3 rows of these structures and it must have been a very industrial (and hot!) place when in use.

Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome.
