Sugar Loaf Mountain - View from PeakPosted by Philip (South Wales, United Kingdom) on 4 November 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. Sugar Loaf Mountain is one of the summit peaks of the Black Mountains, its height is 598 metres and the view from the summit covers the Black Mountains and reaches as far as the Brecon Beacons to the west and the Bristol Channel to the south. All were visible on the day. Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome. I appreciate all your comments, thank you so much. I do read all the comments and will try to answer any questions you have.

@Didier DE ZAN: It certainly is. I was lucky with the clouds on that day as well. MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyA bit of 'touching the skies'. I like these clouds and their shadows, adds even more depth to the picture. 4 Nov 2009 8:38am @MadScientist: When clouds are like this you cannot go wrong with a good landscape. To the left of this scenary the mountains in the distance were covered by clouds. Very beautiful but to far away and misty to provide anything sensible. Nothing beats the human eye. Saying that, Shadow/Highlight in Photoshop does its best for cloud toning. LESLIE from norwich, United KingdomWOW fantastic sky & clouds - they really make this a great landscape image 4 Nov 2009 1:26pm @LESLIE: Thanks. Yes they do - always plenty of sky. I know it sounds silly but on top of a mountain there always feels like there is more sky!!!! @Shahryar: Thanks. Michael from Shell village, United KingdomBetween Heaven and Earth...... a spectacular shot, the tones are amazing. 4 Nov 2009 11:06pm @Michael: The light at that time, I believe about 12ish, was amazing. The view just makes you want to walk towards it. |
