Hi! I love exploring the artifice of the amusement park in an abandoned state. Shows all the illusion. This is great against that mottled sky.

14 Jun 2010 2:39pm

@Bettina: This amusement park was not open on the day. I could only take this photo above the fence and yesterdays of the entrance gate. I will go back and take some photos as I think there is probably loads of 'subjects' to make good photos.

Yep lets have a party one and all, I like your portfolio too

14 Jun 2010 3:01pm

@P J W Miller: Thanks. These photos over the last few days were, in some respects, taken by accident. I have been to this seaside town thousands of times but never thought it worthy of camera time. On the day I took the photos, I only went because my wife's brother was visiting and he wanted somewhere reasonably local to take some photos. Goes to show that there is always a photo available if you look with a bit of imagination.

The ability to "See",rather than just look, is the most important thing in a photographers bag...Nice shot.and can I come to the party."Please". ;>)

Amusement parks both in and out of season always make such great subject matter in my opinion, as the machinery lurks with intent. Happy memories of my childhood and beyond come to mind with this image. I agree with you that when you look, there is always something to capture, that's one of the many great things about photography and having the 'eye' which so many others do not possess. Nicely seen.

14 Jun 2010 4:30pm

@SOUL AFLAME: Thanks. I intend to go back when it is open and take a few photos. Not sure how the owners will react if at all. I suppose I'll find out! It is quite and old place so a number of the rides and the facia board adverts (eg, Ghost Train) should make interesting photos.

Terral from Ponoka, Alberta, Canada

It's party time. neat colors.

14 Jun 2010 8:53pm

@Terral: Thanks. The place was closed on this day in early May but I could see this top of a ride and it looked nice and colourful.
