The Embassy Cinema

Posted by

Another view from yesterdays of this long closed Cinema in Bridgend.

In case anyone is interested there is a great site about these sort of things:

NIKON D90 1/320 second F/11.0 ISO 200 18 mm

Any tips or constructive criticism are welcome.

My photos can also be found on FLICKR.

Visiting that link reminded me of one right on my doorstep here in London that has been an antiques warehouse for so long I'd forgotten. Might not work in Bridgend, though !

@Ronnie 2¢: It's a great site isn't it? It brings it home how many cinemas there used to be!

Funny that so many old Cinemas (before they get torn down) get turned into Bingo halls !! In my home town the same thing happened.Great shot, very sad though !!

@Anthony Morgan Lambert: I know. Not sure Bingo is so popular these days though. To be honest, the cinema was on its last legs in the early 80s before the original owners sold it to a Bingo operator. Shame, no use can be found for the building. It is in a great position and has a large car park.
